EFDA has reinforced coordination in the European Fusion Programme through

2 Task Forces: Plasma Wall Interaction (PWI) and Integrated Tokamak Modelling (ITM)

5 Topical Groups: Diagnostics, Heating and Current Drive, Material Sciences, Plasma Stability and Control and Transport.

The Plasma Stability and Control Topical Group (MHD) is charged with promoting and co-ordinating research developments in the area of:

•

–control, mitigation and avoidance of plasma instabilities
–understanding of the consequences of a significant fast particle population for the plasma stability
